Job purpose: Lead Shypple's global freight procurement.
You lead and execute Shypple's procurement strategy in a high-growth international environment and manage and build a high-performance procurement and pricing team.
You have effective and strong growth-focused partnerships with carriers and supplier agents to drive our growth on existing and new trade lanes in Ocean Freight (dry goods and reefers), Intermodal and warehousing.
You have strong commercial relationships with shippers to retain, grow and win business and tenders with our commercial team. Directly and by leading our procurement team.
You drive the company's commercial development with data-driven and effective pricing strategies.

Achieve our volume and margin goals on existing trades with our commercial and operational teams and develop new trades.
Strong carrier relationships to enable our growth with competitive rates and required allocation
Retain business and win tenders on key accounts with our commercial team directly and indirectly through your team.
Strong performance management of a network of logistical partners
Build a scalable trade lane structure for Shypple
Provide clear direction to the commercial teams to acquire new business and grow existing accounts
Maintain and drive a strong performance culture within your teams and across the Shypple organization
Scale ocean freight internationally at high growth rates with competitive margins
Develop and maintain relations with carriers and global and regional partners
Win key customers through effective tenders and RFQs directly and through leading your team
Retain customers, win business, and negotiate with key accounts together with your team and account management.
Own market information, generate sales leads, and win new business with the sales team.
Manage a large Ocean budget of volume and margin as well as Intermodal, trucking and warehousing
Manage a robust procurement and quoting team
Develop and execute our Carrier Strategy and Trade Lane Strategy with our COO and Chief of Staff.
Procure competitive market rates and manage allocations
Develop our pricing team and pricing tactics
Understand our specific vertical and country requirements and negotiate accordingly
Educate our teams with trade-specific market knowledge
Knowledge & Experience
10+ years of significant leadership experience in freight procurement at scale at either the freight forwarder and carrier
Effective and robust existing network with leading carriers and agents at regional levels
Exceptional business development results in the growth of allocation per carrier and trade lane volumes
Outstanding commercial achievements with large and mid-market customers
Successful development and execution of high-growth procurement and pricing strategies
Strategic and high-energy hands-on business leadership
Exceptional strong commercial and negotiation skills and leadership
Strong analytical, data, and financial skills
Ability to bring structure and focus to a fast-changing environment
Able to lead management of change
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills from the management team to the operational floor.
