The maritime shipping industry emits around 2.5% of all greenhouse gases released each year, mainly due to its reliance on fossil fuels. To counteract its environmental impact, we’re on a mission to offer more sustainable shipping solutions and give our customers the data-driven insights they need to streamline their logistics and reduce their footprint.
When we include the first- and last-mile transport, every single TEU container that ships from Shanghai to Rotterdam result in around 1200 kg of CO2 emissions (CO2e)—that’s the same volume of emissions produced if you were to drive a diesel car from Rotterdam to New Delhi, India. The Shypple platform provides accurate CO2e emissions for each shipment, so our customers can make more sustainable choices when they transport their goods. We have partnered with SeaRoutes, a GLEC-certified organization, to provide highly accurate well-to-tank and tank-to-wheel CO2e calculations for each shipment.
Our customers join us in the fight to reduce carbon emissions related to the transport of goods and meet their sustainability targets. To promote cleaner sea transport, we will offer three sustainable solutions:
Our platform can help consolidate shipments. It also allows our customers to request delivery by barge instead of truck, to lower emissions further. We don't have all the answers, and we strive to update and adjust our programs as we learn more.
Shypple is proud to support the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) Framework, designed to help our customers make more environmentally conscious business decisions and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
All Shypple offices are currently lifetime carbon neutral, and we always search for more opportunities to further reduce our and our customers emissions.

What is sustainability? According to the United Nations, sustainable development takes "an integrated approach that considers environmental concerns along with economic development."
Shypple recognizes the social and environmental effects of global transportation, and we commit to a more equitable shipping industry—for people and the planet. That’s why we have incorporated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) into our company’s policies and mission statement.
Through our partnerships with environmental organizations like SeaRoutes and ForestNation, we also contribute to:
